Word 2003: Getting StartedMicrosoft Word is a powerful word‑processing software program that gives its users the tools to create a variety of professional documents. This short course is an introduction to Word basics -- what you need to create, save, and print a document.
Word 2003: Create Form Letters and Labels using Mail MergeIn this short course, we will use Word's Mail Merge tools to create a form letter and pull it together with a list of names and addresses. We will also work with mailing labels. Keep in mind that the process for creating a mail merge has changed significantly with the 2002 and 2003 versions of Word. Even if you have used mail merge in older versions of Word, this course will be helpful to bring you up-to-speed!
Word 2003: Working with Long DocumentsIf you're considering writing a long report, thesis paper, or even a book, then this is the course for you! In two short hours you will learn how Word can help you work in outline view. Once you have created the long document, you will also learn how to add cross-references, bookmarks, footnotes, create a table of contents, and an index. We will finish up by exploring master documents.
Word 2007: Getting StartedIn this two hour workshop we will work with the new Word 2007 interface while we type text on a page, fix spelling errors, change spacing and page margins, and save your work. We will practice moving the insertion point around in the document; select text to make revisions; and move text by cutting and pasting. Formatting tools will be next, where we will learn how to emphasize text with bold, italic, or underline formatting; and create bulleted and numbered lists.
Word 2007: Create Form Letters and Labels using Mail MergeMail merge is used when you want to create a set of documents, such as a form letter that is sent out to many addressees or a sheet of labels. Each letter or label has the same kind of information, yet the content is unique. In this 2-hour workshop we will explore the mail merge features in Word 2007 including working with various data sources such as Excel and Access; sending personalized email messages to your email address list; and creating and printing envelopes.
Word 2007: Working with Long DocumentsUsing Word 2007, you can create a long document that has several parts, such as a cover page, table of contents, and chapters. In this short course we will look at features such as headers and footers, page numbering, sections, and footnotes and endnotes.

Word 2007, Level 1Word 2007 is the updated version of the popular word processing program. This 6-hour course will cover topics including how to use the new interface to create a basic document; edit by locating and modifying text; format text and paragraphs; work with tables; and add graphic elements. We will finish up by looking at how to control a document's page setup and its overall appearance as well as use proofing features such as spell check and thesaurus.
Word 2007, Level 2In this intermediate Word course will learn how to manage lists of information; customize tables and charts; format using styles and themes; modify pictures and create customized graphic elements. We will also learn how to insert content using Quick Parts; control text flow and use templates to automate document creation. Finally, we will learn how to perform a mail merge and create a simple macro to automate a common task.
Word 2003: Collaboration ToolsMost business professionals spend a lot of time sharing information. A great deal of information is sent to a wide variety of recipients for review, revision, or approval. The reviewing tools in Microsoft Word not only help you collaborate by making it easy for you to send your work to your colleagues for review; they also help you keep track of your document's progress and allow you to integrate comments into one cohesive document. In this short course, we’ll look at the reviewing toolbar which allows you to insert questions or comments on the content of the document; and explore the use of Outlook to send the document on for further review/approval. We’ll use the side-by-side view to compare documents, learn how to track changes, and finally look at the compare and merge function.
Word 2003: Tips and TricksIf you use Word in your daily work, a few simple tips will help you save an hour of your time per week, maybe more. Best of all, these tips are so easy to use that you can put them to work immediately upon finishing this short course. Among the topics covered, we will explore the Format Painter tool, Smart Tags, the Reading Pane, the AutoCorrect feature, sorting, and much more.
Word 2003: Tools for Writing Research PapersDo you have a research paper to write for school or work? Don’t worry, this short course will help you find the resources you need to complete your task using Microsoft Word 2003. We’ll look at how to use templates for a term paper, a thesis, and a research paper using MLA format. We’ll explore the Research pane to look up definitions and synonyms, look up encyclopedia articles, get translation services, and search the Web. Finally, we’ll learn how to set up a Table of Contents and work with cross-references, bookmarks and endnotes and footnotes.

Word 2003: Equation EditorIf you create Office documents that involve mathematics, you’ll find the little-publicized Microsoft Equation Editor program useful for accurately formatting equations in your documents. You can insert an equation into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or Access (in an OLE Object type field).
